STEYR engines power new rescue boats for DLRG & Cyan Sentinel

Padmos Industrial & Marine Motors has once again supported two international shipbuilding projects with the supply of four SOLAS-approved STEYR diesel engines. The engines have been installed in new vessels built by Habbeke Shipyard for the German rescue organisation DLRG Wedel and Scottish shipping company Cyan Sentinel.

STEYR MOTORS AG has been developing compact marine diesel engines for professional, recreational and military applications for decades. Their compact dimensions and favourable power-to-weight ratio make STEYR engines particularly suitable for applications where performance, weight and reliability are key factors. This also makes STEYR engines for rescue boats an attractive solution for vessels that need to perform reliably under demanding operating conditions.

For DLRG Wedel, Habbeke Shipyard built the FRC 1003, a 10.5-metre Search and Rescue (SAR) vessel that will operate on the River Elbe. The vessel is powered by two STEYR SE306J38 diesel engines, each producing 292 HP, enabling speeds of more than 35 knots.

For Cyan Sentinel, two new FDC 1003 Daughter Crafts were built. Each vessel is powered by two STEYR SE266E40 engines, producing 258 HP each.
